  • Does the liner require any special care to ensure durability?

- Keep sharp objects out of the pool or from underneath the pool. Maintain proper pH levels, and keep the pool sanitary and clean. Follow these rules and your pool will last a long time.

  • What surfaces can the Above Ground Pools be used on ?

- The Easy Set Pool can be set up on grass, compacted dirt, or pavement that is smooth, level, and stable. A ground cloth or tarp is recommended. The pool should NOT be set up on sand or muddy ground that could possibly shift. It is also NOT recommended to be set up on wooden decks. Remember that whatever you do the water will be level, so if the base is not level, your pool will be deeper at one end than at the other.

  • How do you drain the Above Ground Pool ?

Draining the Pool at the end of the season is easy:

1. Remove the cap from the drain valve on the outside of the pool wall.
2. Attach the female end of the hose to the hose adapter.
3. Place the other end of the hose in an area where the water can be safely drained.
4. Screw the hose adapter to the drain valve. Note: water will start to drain immediately.
5. Disconnect the hose adapter when finished.
6. Replace the drain plug on the inside of the pool for storage.
7. Replace the drain cap on the outside of the pool.
8. Be sure the pool liner is completely dry before long term storage.

  • Approximately how many Litres of water does the pool hold?

- When filled to 80% water capacity, as recommended, the pool depth is approximately:
12'x36" = 6518 litres
15'x42" = 11,772 litres
18'x48" = 21,171 litres
20' x 48" = 20,492 litres

  • How long does it take to fill the Above Ground Pool with water?

- 2 or more hours, depending on which pool, hose size, and water pressure. Remember to observe the initial filling of the pool for several minutes in order to make sure that the pool is rising evenly and the surface is level. For the larger pools, it will be necessary to leave the hose in for several hours.

  • How deep are the various Above Ground Pools ?

- When filled to 80% water capacity, as recommended, the pool depth is approximately:

12'x36" = 25" water depth
15'x42" = 34" water depth
18'x48" = 40" water depth
20' x 48" Oval = 40" water depth

  • Can the pool be repaired if damaged ?

- Yes. Small tears or holes can be repaired with the enclosed repair patch. The surface should be dry before affixing the patch. We also sell extra repair patches should you need them.

  • Approximately how long should the Above Ground Pool last ?

- It normally depends on usage, maintenance, and care. Consistent maintenance and proper storage of your pool in the off-season will prolong its life.

  • What is needed to prepare a site for the Above Ground Pool?

- A level, stable surface is needed and all sharp objects must be removed. A ground cloth or tarp should be placed under the pool prior to setting it up. On all of our pools, the groundsheet is included.

  • Can the pools be left out all year round ?

- Not really - It depends on where you live, but in the UK it is not recommended. It is not recommended to keep your pool up if your temperature falls below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, or 5 degrees Centigrade. The pool may freeze and cracking may occur. Above Ground Pools are not meant to withstand the weight of ice and snow.

  • How often should the water be changed ?

- Depending on usage and chemical balance this figure may vary. If properly filtered and chemically balanced, the water should last through a summer season. You can reduce the need for water changes by keeping your pool covered when not in use, testing the water regularly to ensure proper chemical balance, operating the pump for an adequate number of hours each day, keeping the filter pump cartridge clean, and replacing the cartridge when needed. You will need our chemical kits to keep the water in good condition.

  • What materials are used to make the Intex Above Ground Pool range ?

- The Intex range of above ground pools is the best, made of the strongest materials. There are other bands, but we have tried them all and Intex are the best.

- It is made with 3 separate layers of material for extra strength and durability - two outer layers of heavy gauge PVC laminated to an inner layer of polyester mesh for extra reinforcement. 8' and 10' pools have a 13 gauge floor/top ring with a 24 gauge side wall. 12' pools have a 15 gauge floor with a 25 gauge side wall and a 17 gauge top ring. 15' pools have a 16 gauge floor with a 29 to 30 gauge side wall and a 20 gauge top ring. 18' pools have a 24 gauge floor/top ring with a 30 gauge side wall. Gauge can be referenced as the equivalent of 1/1000 of an inch.

  • How do UV rays affect the materials that comprise the pool?

- All PVC's degrade over prolonged exposure to excessive sunlight. Intex pools are manufactured with UV inhibitors to delay the degradation caused by sunlight.
